I don’t like the fact - but I am now officially part of the throw away society. I often used to repair our washing machines, tumble dryers etc because they could be repaired and there was a chap in Salisbury Market that sold all the spares and was a mine of Information on how to.

But now technology seems to prevent any DIY input. So apart from a belt change or replacement- I don’t bother now. I don’t buy extended warranties - just use the thing and if and when it fails just go and buy a replacement.

White goods are cheap and on the whole reliable.
