There is absolutely nothing wrong, democratically, in offering an alternative to a previous vote. Otherwise we'd never change government's, a basic tenet of democracy. So opposing a previous election or vote is not undemocratic. Trying to force that point of view without a vote or against that result is and that's what is happening g in the US.
