You have found the answer lol

I used a combination of both, and smeared a thin layer of the grease on the surface of the piston in the hope to help with lubrication as the brake fluid deteriorates, as well as hopefully protecting from moisture. In reality I imagine it will dissolve eventually with the fluid though.

Also.use the rubber grease onto the slider pins and their rubbers too remembering to replace their caps too.
