From the beginning of production up until to 2002 there were just three types of radio in the MG ZT:
1) Harmony
A 7 watt per channel radio by Phillips
2) Symphony
A 25 watt per channel radio by Alpine
2a) Symphony
with Low Line satellite navigation
3) High Line satellite navigation
with built in TV by Alpine
The Symphony and the High Line Sat Nav could be upgraded by the option of:
The Harmon Kardon sound system
This 10 speaker system consisted of uprated speakers in the door cards, 180 watt power amp in the boot & a subwoofer
The Symphony and High Line sat nav remained an option until the end of the production
From 2002 MG Rover dropped the Harmony radio and used the single Din Kenwood system instead.
Four variants were available:
1) The KRC-391
A 45 watt per channel Radio Cassette
2) The KRC-591
A 47 watt per channel Hi-spec radio cassette with flip down front
3) The KDC-5021
A 50 watt per channel single slot CD radio tuner
4) The KDC-M6021 G
A 50 watt per channel single slot CD radio tuner with MP3 CD playback
All the above head units could be upgraded with the addition of a
6 CD Multi changer which could be boot mounted or placed in the glove box.

When the facelift ZT was launched in 2004, MG Rover replaced the Kenwood system
as the standard fit head unit, with the single Din Iovox systems instead,
however all the above Kenwood stereos were still available as an extra cost option.

A 20 watt per channel radio cassette with boot mounted 6 CD multi changer
Finally, between late 2004 & early 2005, the head unit supplier was changed
from Iovox to Siemens/VDO, and once more three options were available:
1) The VDO CD 413X
A 35 watt per channel single CD radio tuner
2) The VDO CD 5404MP3X
A 35 watt per channel single CD radio tuner with MP3 CD playback
3) The VDO CR213X
