Very well done David, just picked up this post which shows just how busy the forum is.
Makes me wonder if that was all I needed when I replaced the alternator on the diesel a few years back.
I had the whole front end off the car but did a couple of other preventative maintenance items at the same time and replaced the auxiliary belt.
A few weeks after the new alternator was fitted the car started giving problems with battery going flat. I replaced it but still it was going flat as alternator just could not keep up with all that was running.
I even started a time line documenting everything as I was sure I was going to have trouble getting the suppliers to change the alternator again, but oddly enough things just corrected themselves and the car has never given trouble since well up to last week with the fuel pump saga.
