Decided it was time for the first drive of the year for the mini. A John Cooper Si+ S works. Number 1 out of 10 cars converted by John Cooper garages. Owned for 24 years and a huge part of the family. Standard out of the factory, 1275cc and 62 bhp, it’s still 1275cc but now running at around 90 bhp after both conversions, extremely nice to drive but average mpg is around 19 mpg and if driven in anger can kill its clutch in around 600 miles. It generally only covers around 30 miles per year but last year it was invited to the Bella Auto show just outside Newcastle because of it’s rarity so I’m trying to use it more.

'Marmite' Possibly one of the most famous 75 tourers produced! left the production line as the last of only Three Rover 75 tourers produced in Trophy Yellow. 48 hours later Longbridge closed. The last sold ordered 75 Tourer. Paid for by the Phoenix Four and handed over by John Towers to the Warwickshire Northampton Air ambulance service as a Rapid Response vehicle
