At my local garage if the number plates are wrong they ask the customer if they got the right ones and get them to put them on for the mot and then take a picture of it they are not bothered after mot if they get caught out they can prove at time they were right because they can be done or be inspected by the mot people to see if they are doing them right if not they have to go back on a course to pass again or stop doing mot
