I think this is all very interesting. OddSox - I'm still not sure what you mean by the idle being "not smooth". Are we talking about mechanical vibration that you can physically feel when inside the car? Or is there something not smooth about the sound the engine makes? Or something else?
I'm wondering if there could be a below-par engine mount. Perhaps you could post a video?
