A small thing but mine own. I cut up a plate 30mm x 90mm from scrap 3mm alu sheet, fixed with good ole Araldite and a couple of self-tappers. (Incidentally bought the sheet for a fiver from
here and have found it invaluable for making up odd brackets. 3mm bends easily and cuts with a DIY jigsaw). I sprayed it before fixing.
