We will see. Currently they are neither affordable nor practical for the masses and it is the masses who will ultimately decide the outcome - not an expenses fiddler, an activist or a non-jobber. They together with the whole ev scenario are utterly dependent on subsidy from the masses, which in the case of ev's cannot be sustained forever. No subsidies and relatively few customers will collapse the whole house of cards regardless of how much of other people's money has been flung at the idea.
