According to DMGRS this morning you are probably right - there are some with fixed pipes and some with removable pipes - mine I think is the latter.
I can't see how this pump is refurbished as there is no way to split the body - there is a rubber seal on the flat surface that sits to the side facing inwards to the centre of the car but there is no obvious way as to how this is removed and effectively sealed on replacement.
There are no splits or joins in the pump body and no screws / bolts or plates to unscrew to get into it.
