As for using "clay" I'd never heard of such a thing until a few years ago when I started to take an interest in detailing.

Claying is a bit weird - you can actually feel something "gritty" coming off the paintwork

. But it makes a huge difference to the final finish.

I've used a clay bar but far prefer a mitt. For me it's just easier to use but each to their own.

I use a CarChem one, well lubed with their excellent 1900:1 shampoo.
