As a film it was entertaining but historically and factually it was rubbish. No way would a Spitfire be able to glide for as long as that supposedly did and then shoot another aircraft down.
My father was at Dunkirk and he would never talk about it unless he had a couple of drinks, he reckoned it was every man for him self and many good men got left behind. He had to blow a fuel dump on the edge of Dunkirk and the explosion was so large he felt the heat after he had been driving for 15 mins.
