If there were a data sheet with the tensioner that would have helped as
the manuals (I had the factory manual, the Haynes manual and the factory Freelander manual open as well) say nothing about tensioner adjustments other than "It is set at the factory so don't mess with it or very bad things will happen".
The Schaeffler instructions are very straightforward. I wish I had seen them before as that may well have saved me an extra day's work.
At least if I have to strip it down again things will come apart easily.
