Agreed but whereas I would say my welding was adequate it’s not to professional standard. Two other reasons for going to the trim channel, 1- cutting along the line of holes will give an accurate datum for refitting 2- to replace the front jacking point and the steel surrounding it will need most of the outer sill cut away.
