I had a 17k mile Rover Coupe Turbo 'FDH'
, which was literally almost factory mint aside from some brand new OZ Superlegeras, 335mm front brakes, MG ZS rears electroplated in OE gold, and Gaz Gold fully adjustable suspension. I even had a pair of BRAND NEW BOXED AP Roversport front calipers which I sold to Jason in Australia. Sigh, regrets all round.
I sold it for SILLY money, and regret it to this day and would dearly love to buy it back.
The Coupe Turbo was brilliant for a nice Sunday morning drive, I loved it to bits. The performance stats for the Coupe Turbo were silly for the early 1990's, and I remember booting it one day and leaving an expensive Cosworth Escort looking silly. Of course being 4x4 it was suffering major transmission losses, but still, for a rubbish old Rover the Coupe Turbo really was a masterpiece in a straight line. Less said about the standard brakes and standard cornering the better though...
Suffice to say mine was on rails once I had the camber dialled in how I liked it, although front tyre longevity was erm.... 'poor'
