My disagreement with them was a few years ago over their lack of ability to diagnose a bent steering rack on my MGF Trophy when doing a geo setup (which I then subsequently diagnosed in 20 minutes-I should have DIY’d in the first place really!) and then more annoyingly Mr Gammons’ refusal to refund the three hours of time they’d charged me for the pleasure of not finding the fault I’d asked them to.

Interesting - I was in B&G yesterday to get some parts for my MGB. Not a great experience- the guy on the desk seemed clueless, and even though I came in with a list of six items with all the correct part numbers, it took him 45 minutes to put the order together, and then he forgot two items and had to go back in the stores for another 10 minutes to find them. They did not have a genuine front valance and he bought out a cheaper after market item to try to sell me - it was clearly bent/damaged, so I told him no thanks ! I won't be going back there.
Anyway, to come back to the OPs question, my local garage in Ramsey St. Mary's, Cambs (Auto Attentive) are quite good with MG Rovers - they use to do a lot of work on my first 75 before I got back into spannering. They are honest and I never had a problem with them. One of the mechanics there runs a very tidy MG ZR, and the owner has restored an MG Metro in the past. I know they look after a few 75s local to me.
