In case anyone else reads this, the master and slave were OK but took advice from this forum and replaced both. New master from DMGRS which required re-using the existing pipework but saved £200 versus getting the Rimmers item. Scott at DMGRS couldn't have been more helpful when the garage had trouble bleeding the system.
New clutch and slave from Rimmers simply because the same kit they suppled several years ago for the 75 Connie Tourer is still fine after many tens of thousands of miles.
