The UK really needs more especially in the midlands to not be dependent on EU supplies, There are many ev battery factories built/under construction across the EU already, VW's chairman Deiss wants 40 gigafactories across Europe before 2035 just to cope with demand.

If that happens it will be a miracle given that the background of the firm's former CEO Lars Carlstrom, the company will be forever tainted as a result.
Siemens have a fairly poor reputation in this neck of the woods too, but I would be surprised if even they would want to get into bed with a spurious startup with no capital, it's not quite the same as Tesla and Panasonic is it?
In regards to Nissan, I'll wait until the line of import into the EU from Japan is established until hanging out the bunting for the people employed at the Washington plant.
