The original Rover seals were produced with a glued join - it was pennies cheaper to do that than produce them with no join. Over time the glue fails, the joint opens, and Hey Presto - water gets in.
The new seals are produced in one piece, so no joint to fail

Photo of broken pair which I replaced with Jezzer's top seals. I took my time and also cleaned the body work & the light clusters themselves at the same time as they were pretty dirty.
It's a simple enough job...must be cos I managed it
