Well, eventually got the stake nut off after warming it up and standing on the bar. The socket from Halfords not cheap but very robust.


Unfortunately the rear part of the bearing stayed on the stub axle! Work for the little Dremel copy from Lidl.


Unfortunately the washer RYF100450 snapped it's little tang. There was also no wheel bearing cap RLF10001. So thought I'd order and make the job right. Rimmers want £7.95 to ship parts costing about the same. But can't find them elsewhere so looks like I'll have to do it.


Mechanics pal said not to bother and re-use the washer as is but my view is that the washer was put there with a tang like that for a reason.
