Default CDT Check engine light+EGR+PCV+Viton rings+MAF

Sorry about the big title, but there is relevance to all in the heading.

First off, some time ago I asked about my check engine light coming on.

As I was about to clean gthe EGR and renew the PCV filter, as well as fitting the Turbo viton ring, I was going to look for reason the check light came on once the routine stuff was done.

There was no need to do that because as soon as the half choked EGR was decoked and the vacuum pipe blocked off, the original PCV filter replaced and the viton rings in place, the light went out.

Great! I thought I would give feedback on that, and i was well pleased with my efforts.

However, while the motor pulled like a train when I first drove it after the work, the power could not be relied on, for around 30% of the time, the take off from junctins etc., could be very poor.
In fact, I could floor the pedal and get oertaken by milk floats.

I did the sensible thing and disconnected the MAF. This worked a treat.

I do want to replace the MAF, but being a tight ***, I have some questions on that, and as they are separate to this thread, I will start another hare running in another thread.

Best wishes, Frank
