I guess you suspected FFS? If so, your filter module is the earlier, non-separating type which don't suffer FFS. The two loops/lugs on the top confirm it.
When refitting the module, the rubber ring must be seated correctly around the port first. The module has a downward facing lug which must be entered into the corresponding cut away in the plastic neck of the port. It should drop in easily by hand. The steel clamping ring should start easily on the thread using hand pressure alone. If you can't start the ring, then the module/seal is not correctly positioned. If you have to force the joint aggressively, then it will leak for sure.
