Default Rear light seals

In my experience the rear light seals fail at the join and that is when they start to leak. Previously I have found after dismantling and cleaning and supergluing of the joint I can reinstall successfully without need for any sealant.

Today for first time I took the lights off the gold car. i had noticed they were leaking badly. They had been hideously bodged with black silicone but the join in the seal was still broken. I managed to peel the silicone off the seal without too much difficulty and then glue it back together at the join. Getting the silicone off the bodywork is the hard part, silicone remover and patience needed. I will try the old seals but have ordered new ones just in case.
