Fitted a replacement front passenger door to get rid of the damaged old one (I bought it that way) and also a new driver's electric door mirror as the existing one wouldn't scrunch out enough to provide a proper wide view. My body-repair buddy had quoted £200 to repair the door but suggested that I get hold of a replacement for around £50 and he'd spray it for £75 which I thought was a great idea.

After trawling eBay, I found...... an mostly-intact exact-match breaking car in Wigan (2½ hrs away)! Colour, trim, everything identical so definitely worth a drive. They were happy to pull the door off for me and let me have it for £35 intact and in working order. Took the wifey for a romantic day out at the breakers (via McDonalds - I know how to show a good time..) and came home with a super new door, an immaculate matching driver's seat for £15 (mine has stitching showing) and the driver's door mirror for a tenner.

The seat was a bit wet as the car had several inches of water inside so it's drying nicely for a few days.

Happy days.
