I've also cut the rubber to allow more fluid to be held in the reservoir with no problems at all.
As said already, moisture affecting the fluid is a very slow process & at least the reservoir is inside the car so not exposed to all winds & weather.
Personally, I wouldn't panic about it but if you're worried about it, just look out for one.
Your clutch won't fail because of this anytime soon that's for sure.
