Dave I normally park on the pavement on Low Hill Lane opposite MG Motor's main gate, then it's an easy walk into the park for a wander round the cars

To answer your questions.
Yes you can just turn up, for information the Club's in area 12 the stewards will direct you, the event is free, you can arrive and leave as you want though allowing for possible traffic build ups during the day.
