My daughter took an audi to spain. It failed when she took it for the spanish mot because of the UK lights, as yours did. We tried to get LHD headlights from all over, but all the replies were for RHD. The suppliers were trying to be helpful, as it was UK specification (by the car model number).
Eventually, the local garage took it for another MOT, same station, and it passed ! (without any modification, still UK lights). All it needed was a little backhander.
