I sat in an ex-protection Range Rover at one of the Land Rover shows and was told the easiest way to recognise an armoured version of a vehicle was to check out the glass. This is the obvious week spot in most standard vehicles and so armoured ones would have much thicker bullet proof glass.
This Range Rover I sat in had an interesting modification to its door cards as well - a neat hole about 4 inches in diameter at waist height as you sat in it.
"What are those for" - I asked.
The owner mimed shooting a gun through the hole.
Replacing the door skins after was never a problem he said.....
