My handbrake compensator has stretched so an email to arctic to ensure he still does them was sent.
I then remembered I had a mini one somewhere so off I go in my box of stuff and I find it.
The interior was taken out and the handbrake duly removed.
The cable was then replaced with the mini one and all put back together, and this is when the problem began, the cable when tightened on the adjuster then twisted , so off it all came again, I couldn’t see immediately what the problem was but then I spotted it.
The circled part was further away than what it is in the pic, reducing the gap makes no difference as it’s already been weakened, the cause can only be over tightening the cable which in turn pulls the two parts of the hand brake apart.
I have no access to a welder otherwise I think a small weld would be enough to hold this end together.
Tapping it back into shape made no difference, when the adjuster was tightened this simply spread apart again.
So assuming the replacement compensator gets here by next weekend I’ll be doing the same job......again. 🙄
