Oh and I had the same problem with the battery terminal , you need more leverage than a spanner I used a 1/2" drive socket and ratchet spanner to do mine, then get a screw driver to open up 2 halves and push it down on the pillar give it a tap to get the bottom of the clamp flush with the battery before you tighten it up
