My wife's Polo has passed the last two MOT's with a rear door which only opens from outside. The lock failed just before the first test so I called the garage and asked, they said front doors must open from inside & out but the rear only need to open from outside to pass. I managed to get the door unlocked but had to disconnect the inside handle, this has been shown as an advisory (I did replace the lock after the first MOT but the new lock soon had the same issue)
