It mentions moving the seats forward to access screws in the side of the centre console.

There are no screws on the rear sides only near the front of the seats and moving the seats backwards or forwards does not clear these screws.

Did the manufacture of the centre console differ?

I think I will remove the seats, gives me a chance to hover

The front screws are a bit difficult to get at, found I had to squash the seat cushion and use a long Phillips screwdriver. Probably a good idea to take the seats out if you've the right socket for the bolts (Torx +50) if I remember correctly.
Don't know if the centre console differs, only done mostly early 75 cars.
