HI Ian.
There is no need to disconnect any wiring also the screws can be removed from the side of the console quite easy, i note that the link you posted as the photos missing, i replaced them ages ago here is the link below, i fitted a SSC yesterday in drizzling rain in 20 minutes on a V8

Mind you i could do them with my eyes closed now folow the photo and you should be ok cheers Arctic.
