On Monday last week I was doing some wood work, and I felt damage to one of my left fingers. As I pulled my hand away from the circular saw, my left index finger was hanging off and blood was flying everywhere. It had cut right through the bone and the finger was hanging on by a tiny bit of skin.
Went to the hospital and all they did was put some gauze round my finger to hold it together. Then they put a plaster cast in the palm of my hand, then they bandaged my hand up so the finger couldn't fall out. They sent me home and said they would call me back on Tuesday to talk about reattaching my finger.
Tuesday came and they rang to say, come to the hand clinic on Wednesday.
I went to the hand clinic at the hospital on Wednesday morning, and the nurses refused to see me because im supposed to be insolation for another week.
So here I am, typing with one hand, with 3 days to go before i'm out of isolation. And I still haven't taken any painkillers. Not one.
