I have had the same problem. I think I brazed a nut onto a washer and then soldered 2 "pins" into the other side of the washer having drilled 2 small holes for the "pins". I can use a 10mm socket to undo the plastic things.

Necessity is the mother on invention.



Years ago working in a telephone exchange "laziness" become the mother.
To save engineers walking backward and forwards along a long rack, they used small plastic tube. They connected a wire to one end of each tube, pushed the tube through the rack, walked to the other side of the rack, grabbed to tubes and dragged the wires to the required location. The tubes could have been on different levels. As an off shoot, this also made them more efficient
