You say you are ‘losing coolant’. Where are you filling the header tank to? If you are filling it to the top, it will pump out the excess water when it gets warm, because the water level should be nearly at the bottom of the neck of the header tank. There is a mark ‘Max’ in the bottom of the header tank saying so. Fill to this mark and no higher..
