So to answer Damian's question, a faulty aerial filter (XUE 100 001) would cause radio crackle when the HRW is on. A faulty aerial amplifier (XUC100741 or other) would cause radio crackle regardless of what the HRW is doing.
Thank you for the advice, I shall try replacing the module to see what happens 😊
