Hi Paul.
I would say the ECU as been for a swim, and being that you have an 04 plate i presume there is no UBP.

When was the fuel filter last changed? also for the sake of £5 i would check the regulator O-rings.

Check the oil light comes on as it should with key to position II? If not you have a faulty ECM
