I would begin with the obvious: Try another socket > Check the connections inside the plug have not loosened > check the cable for any hidden intermittent break, usually in the area where it enters the appliance - flex the cable there and watch for any difference it might make. Only then would I consider opening up the appliance to look for any mechanical or electrical problem.
