Cheers, achieved only with the help of this awesome community!

It is the same ECU. I did clean off most of the water marks. Once cleaned and resynchronised with the EWS Immobiliser module, and I had cleaned up the solenoid valve (injector ) connectors, it sprang into life straight away.

TOAF did the resynchronisation. It didn't work the first time, but pressing start, stop, key out, key in, the resynchronisation worked!

No electrical work was required on the ECU, so lucky!

Needless to say, our other Rover 75s and MG ZTs have now had their plenum drains checked!
