I'd have thought the main requirements for a school bus were a thick skin and a weapon of some description!
When I was helping my mate out with his taxi business we had council contract school runs. All school runs had to have a council vetted escort for the child.
The most thorough vetting I ever had was for being involved in the Commonwealth Heads Of Government train. No surprise really considering who the passengers were. Royal train coaches, took them from Edinburgh to Leuchars to play golf at St Andrews then back again. It was about a 14 hour day, sat in the siding at Leuchars for about 8 hours, the other Driver Manager and myself were told we'd be fed . . . . we got one bacon roll in the Royal train security coach! Thankfully there was a Scotrail DMU for transporting the armed Police sitting there as well, we knew the Driver Manager on it and raided the food trolley they had.
