The system is far more convenient now, and saves the hassle of waiting for a disc of paper to come through the post or queuing at the Post Office to get it. However, there's still one aspect that ticks me off (think of a stronger word to replace 'ticks') and that's the fact that tax is still charged for complete calendar months - e.g. if you tax a car on the 20th of a month you have to pay for the whole of that month.

Now that everything's digital there is absolutely no excuse whatsoever for this, and the system should be changed so that you can tax your car from any specific date in a month to run monthly (or yearly) from that date.

Just another way to rip off motorists.
