If there's no air or gas in the coolant then it's unlikely to have gone across a bore.

If there's no oil in the system and there's no coolant in the oil then it's not gone across an oilway.

If there's no white, sweet smelling smoke out the back then it's unlikely to be getting into the bores and being burnt.

I've had literally the same thing happen to me last week and after asking on here I've done the Viton seals on the cap, taken some coolant out of the header tank as it was overfilled and it's been fine since.

That waterpump, was it genuine? The symptoms sound like those VW waterpumps that the impellers are faulty on, the plastic impeller just sits on the spindle and doesn't rotate.
