Have today changed the header tank . On my run to work all seems ok.
So now have no coolant loss as yet.
Its looking like a list of faults have come together at the same time. Will never know what started the roll.
But all the parts was 19 years old so may be weak or just warn with age.
Now it's over cool running at around 88c only going up when in traffic or slow driving.
But at least its looking like no coolant loss.
I hope to do a flush of the system this week if I can find a good way of doing it.

Changed header tank ???

All OK now so did you find anything wrong with the tank you took off.? If the problem has gone then it must have been the tank or the pipes to it.
