If the picture is of a pressure piston, it looks completely wrongly designed.
Firstly an o-ring in that position is not the best choice, and secondly, if chosen, it is of far too small cord diameter.
But it would be far better to machine the front of the piston to take a conventional brake cylinder seal, with a skirt that is pressed against the sidewall when applied.
It would be a small thing to get this to work!
It looks like decent material and the machining is also good, just wrong.
