Well I got the clip faster than expected from the Bay, so I fitted everything back and tried to start. The pump ran and then stopped, so I thought 'It's priming OK', and tried to start. It started, but only ran for a few seconds. There was a strong smell of fuel but I can't see any leaks.
The longest it ran was for about thirty seconds, so I still have fuel starvation. I think I'll bite the bullet and inspect the internal o rings and the filter. I have new, so I think that is the next step. The canister was badly separated when I inspected it. When I tightened it I felt I used excessive force to align it for the clip, so maybe an O ring has got trapped and chewed up. I'll report what I find.
