Here's a picture after I've cleaned up the board with all four brushes, you can see the one which was broken in the top left.
I've been trying to reattach the broken strip, I thought I might be able to solder the break back together but it doesn't seem to want to adhere. Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but would it not achieve the same result if I put in a wire between the two solder point like so:
