Does the engine management light go out if you plug the original MAF back in?

There's very little to put the EML on in these cars, the DDE 4.0 is pretty dumb in comparison to the MEMS 3 in the 1.8 or the Siemens 2000 in the V6. You don't need a code reader or T4 to reset it

It should clear on a DDE 4.0 as soon as the fault has been found and rectified.
