So it sounds you have changed the cam sensor - so when she fails to start is the rev counter moving at all ?

If the rev counter (tachograph) is not moving when you try to start the car that points to a failing crank sensor which are known to fail when the engine is hot and start working again once cool.

Not sure where the crank sensor sits on the V6 -on mine its on the front bell housing but mine is a 1.8t

Failing hot is a classic sign of crank sensor starting to fail.
